Advertisement and Invitation for Bids
The City of Raymondville will receive bids for Drainage Ditch Linear Detention Improvement Project until 4:30 P.M. on (August 9, 2011) at City Hall 142 South 7th Street, Raymondville, Texas 78580. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 5:00 P.M.on (August 9, 2011) at City Hall 142 South 7th Street, Raymondville, Texas 78580.
Bids are invited for several items and quantities of work as follows: 1. Proposal to widen ditches, 2,600 L.F. 2. Install a 48" Storm Sewer Pipe, approximately 1,100 L.F. Bid/Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications are on file at the office of the Project Engineer, 2020 E. Expressway 83, Mercedes, Texas 78570, and the local offices of the AGC Plan Rooms.
Copies of the Bid/Contract Documents may be obtained by depositing a non-refundalbe fee of $150.00 with the Project Engineer for each set of documents obtained.
A bid bond in the amount of 5% percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Raymondville or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond.
One (1) pre-bid conference will be conducted by the Owner on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. The pre-bid -conference shall be conducted at City of Raymondville, City Hall located at 142 7 Street, Raymondville, Texas 78580. Attendance by prospective Bidders is highly recommended. Sub-contractors, suppliers, and equipment suppliers may attend.
Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Texas Department of Rural Affairs and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex age or national origin.
The City of Raymondville reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding.
Bids may be held by City of Raymondville for a period not to exceed 30 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidders qualifications prior to the contract award. All contractors/subcontractors that are debarred, suspended or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project.
