As we all were set to enjoy a three day weekend for Labor Day, we started hearing the name Hermine. Who was Hermine and why was she so angry? Hermine was the tropical storm that thought she could be a hurricane. Just like “the little train that could,” she just kept trying and trying until she let everyone know who she was.

Ky. champion ham fetches $1.6 million for charity

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Start baking those biscuits and stirring that red-eye gravy. Two donors have pledged a record $1.6 million for Kentucky's grand champion country ham.

That works out to about $100,000 a pound for 16 pounds of Kentucky's favorite cured meat.

AUSTIN - (Sept. 7, 2010) For the week ending Sept. 4, feeder cattle price trends at Texas auctions were mixed, mostly $5 lower per hundredweight to $2 higher, with a few to $5 higher. Feeder prices normally decline during the late summer and fall as increasing numbers of recently weaned calves come to market.

Tropical Storm Hermine began as a low pressure system in the Bay of Campeche and moved quickly into the Gulf of Mexico where she drew a bead on South Texas.

ICE detainee slips away from hospital--briefly

On Tues., Aug..31, a detainee at the ICE facility in Raymondville was playing soccer with another group of detainees. The man who came to this country illegally is from El Salvador. While playing he fell and broke his hand. He was taken by ICE personnel to Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen to have his hand x-rayed.
