The Trojan Cross Country team continued to improve as they competed well at the Santa Rosa Warrior Meet last Saturday. Rene Flores finished first in the JV Division with a PR of 19:06 for the three-mile course. Freshman Luis Herrera finished 3rd, while Christian Hernandez had a PR of 19:41 and finished 6th. Jesus Martinez also had a PR at 23:11 as did Julian Rivera with a 24:30. The team finished in fourth place in a very strong division. Freshman girls Sandra Lopez, Frankie Garcia, and Christina Reyes competed well in their division and Drucilla Nieto ran well in the 8th grade girls group. There were over 150 runners in each Middle School division and only Ruben Flores managed to break into the top 20 with a 13th place finish in the boy's 8th grade division. Next weekend we will compete in the Port Isabel Meet which will be held on the Island.

The Lady Trojan Volleyball Squads swept Lyford last Tuesday but lost their first district match on Friday at San Isidro. The girls played hard but errant serves and trouble at the net kept them from overcoming the very athletic Lady Tigers. This week they will play two very pivotal district games. Tuesday we will host Santa Maria and Friday we will travel to IDEA Academy. Game times are at 6:00 and 7:30.
