Amador F. Quintanilla died Tuesday, October 30, 2007 surrounded by family.

He was born on April 8, 1937 to Abelardo and Eloisa Quintanilla in Willacy County. He was a lifelong resident of Willacy County. He worked and retired from the Texas Highway Department where he had a 25 year safety driving record.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Abelardo and Eloisa Quintanilla, son, Eloy Quintanilla, brother, Adan Quintanilla, and a grandson, Baby Adrian Q. Garcia.

Survivors include Dora Galvan, girlfriend; Areopajita (Paquita) G. Quintanilla, mother of his children; daughter, Cynthia Ann "Cindy" Quintanilla of Las Cruces, NM; sons, Omar (Connie) Quintanilla of Tampa, FL, Amador (Patty) Quintanilla of Las Cruces, NM, Israel (Riley) and (Tencha) Quintanilla of Raymondville; sisters, Eva Q. Mesa of Raymondville, Viola Q. Garcia of Texas City; brothers, Abelardo (Paula) Quintanilla of Raymondville and Jose Guadalupe (Mila) Quintanilla of Raymondville. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.

Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 2, at the United Pentecostal Church, with G.F. Mangrum officiating. Burial was at the Raymondville Cemetery.

Pallbearers included Rodolfo "Rudy" Q. Garcia, Jr., Randall Q. Garcia, Jose G. Quintanilla, Jr., Baldemar Mesa, Jr., Gilberto Mesa and Michael Mesa.
