Manuela Ortiz Jimenez, 80, died Saturday, February 2, 2008 at her home in Raymondville surrounded by her family. She was born February 13, 1927 in Lubbock, Texas to Pedro and Guadalupe (Castañon) Ortiz, but was raised in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas.

She lived most of her life in Raymondville.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Pedro and Guadalupe Ortiz, one sister, Dolores Ortiz- Rodriguez, two brothers, Pedro Ortiz, Jr. and Samuel Ortiz.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Remijio Jimenez; four daughters, Juana (Ruben) Camarillo of Raymondville, Irma Garcia of Houston, TX, Raquel Hernandez of Plant City, FL, and Nora (Gregorio) Banuelos of Raymondville; two sons, Ramon (Maria Flora) Jimenez of Houston, TX, and Ricardo Jimenez of Giddens, TX; three sisters, Felicita Ortiz of Raymondville, Modesta Ibarra of Weslaco, and Paul Diaz of Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas.

She is also survived by 36 grandchildren and 65 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Hernandez Funeral Home. Burial followed at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Juan Jimenez, Ricardo Jimenez, Jr., Johnathan Camarillo, Ruben Camarillo, Jr., Adrian Garcia, and Ben Hernandez.

Honorary pallbearers were Minerva Banuelos and Beto Banuelos.
