The Lady 'Kat Track team participated at the Yellow Jacket Relays in Edcouch on Saturday, February 23. Senior Nicole Garcia did an outstanding job placing first in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:02. This is Nicole's first year running the 400 meters and after two meets she has really improved her time. Nicole also placed first in the 200 meter dash edging out Edcouch-Elsa's Janay Vargas. The 400 meter relay (Brandy Solorio, Nicole Garcia, Brittney Flores, and Darlene Hernandez) placed sixth and the 800 meter relay placed fifth (Brandy Solorio, Bianca Cervantes, Samantha Rosales, and Kasey Nieto). Overall the track team did a great job. This week the JV will be in Lyford and the Varsity in Mercedes.
