The month of February has been a super one for the Bearkat Tennis Team. The team has competed in several tournaments this month in Harlingen, Pharr and recently, in San Benito. Daisy Montes has been showing why she is a regional qualifier with several first place finishes in girls singles. Dulce Cortez and Denise Trevino have also been very impressive in girls singles. Cortez picked up a consolation trophy at the Harlingen tournament along with the doubles team of Gina Medina and Berta Mata. The girls won a first place team trophy at the San Benito tournament with the help of Montes, Reyna, Galvan, Cassie Gallardo, Ashley Arce, and Maria Hernandez. The girls are not the only players who are doing well. Carlos Flores and Joey Martinez, both part of mixed doubles teams, picked up 1st and 2nd place medals at San Benito also.
