The boys track team competed at the Yellow Jacket Relays in Edcouch-Elsa on Saturday. The 'Kats ran with several Junior Varsity athletes because there was no JV meet this week. The boys got off to a slow start in the field events then placed second in the 400 meter relay and first in the 800 meter relay. Justin Mendoza, Jake Garcia, Skylor Janes and Dustin Alejo medaled for the 'Kats. Junior Dustin Alejo won the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.6 seconds. The mile relay team improved their time and placed sixth. This week the JV travel to Lyford on Thursday while the varsity will run on Saturday in Mercedes.
