BASTROP, Texas (AP) - At least 22 children suffered minor injuries when their Bastrop school bus went off a rain-slick road, into a ditch and hit a barbed-wire fence.
The Bastrop High School students were transported to Austin-area hospitals following the wreck Monday morning.
Department of Public Safety Trooper Christopher Wray says nobody was seriously hurt.
District officials say the bus driver reported she swerved to avoid a small animal in the road. Wray says the driver will be ticketed for operating the vehicle at an unsafe speed and failing to control the bus.
