Gloria Cantu Fitzgerald, 80, died Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Harlingen Medical Center. She was born July 20, 1928 and was a lifelong resident of Willacy County.

She is survived by her three children, Bland "Buddy" Puente of Raymondville, Cindy Puente- McDonnell of Corpus Christi, and Krissy Lopez of Raymondville; and three grandchilden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claudio and Paula Cantu.

A rosary was recited Monday at 7 p.m. at the Duddlesten Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral mass was celebrated Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial followed at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dr. George Cantu, Danny Reyna, Brent Puente, Patrick Puente, B.J. Carpenter, Raymond Tamez, III, Laura Puente and Lalo Fonseca.
