Ignacio and Trini Acosta of Austin, would like to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Nelda Acosta to Tomas Lamar Morales, son of Jose F. and Diamantina Morales of San Marcos, formerly of Lyford. Tomas is the grandson of Jose D. and Virginia Morales and the late Julio Zapata Saldana and the late Lamar Suarez Saldana, all of Lyford.

The bride to be is formerly from Austin and currently resides in Arlington. She is a graduate from McCallum High School of Austin. Nelda received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in May of 1999 from Baylor University. She received a Master's in Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas in Arlington in August 2008. Currently she is a Vice Principal at Carter Junior High School in Arlington.

Tomas is a 1997 graduate from San Marcos High School, and is currently employed with Academy Sports and Outdoors of Arlington. He received an Associates in General Studies from Columbia College, Ft.Worth, in May of 2006. Tomas served in the U.S. Marines from 2002 until 2006 and he is currently serving with the Army National Guard of Texas. Spc. Morales recently returned from a tour of active duty, Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 236 MP Company of San Antonio.

The couple plan to wed on December 20, 2008, at St. Julia's Catholic Church in Austin. They plan to reside in Arlington.
