On Christmas Eve, 1841, President and Mrs. John Adams Put Christmas candles in each window of the Presidential Mansion and dedicated their home to the Lord.

President Adams prayed, "O Lord, in Thy Name we dedicate this house. We invoke Thy blessings upon all who now and hereafter shall dwell here. May none other but a good and wise man ever rule beneath this roof."
