Rogelio C. Montalvo, 91, died at his residence Monday, Dec. 15, 2008.

He was born on December 5, 1917 in Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to the late Manuel Montalvo and Clarita Chavez Montalvo.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Margarita Bella Montalvo; one son, Rogelio (Ninfa) Montalvo, Jr. and one daughter, Rosie M. (Julian) Cortez, along with five grandchildren, all of Raymondville.

He is also survived by one sister, Josefina Montalvo Mendiola, also from Raymondville and numerous nieces and nephews.

He lived in Raymondville most of his life and was a bootmaker at Rios Boot Co. for over 30 years.

Rosary will be recited Thursday, 7 p.m. at Duddlesten Chapel.

Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, Dec. 19, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery .
