Someone once said, "Superstars show discipline all game long. Then know just when to lower the hammer and get it done."

This quote describes Lyford's wide-receiver and all-purpose football player - the titleist Andrew Delgado #23.

For the second straight year, Delgado has garnished all-state 1st team honors for the Lyford Bulldogs. This is unprecedented stuff. I may be wrong, but no football player in the valley has ever won back to back 1st team all-state honors.

Andrew has played football at a very high level the past two years at Lyford High School.

I asked Andrew to describe his second 1st team all-state award. He answered, "Last year was nice, this year it's twice as nice."

He was the 32-3A offensive player of the year and second consecutive 1st team. Delgado led the state in receiving with 79 grabs, 1,502 yards and 21 total TDs during the regular season.

Coach Infante told VMS, "I don't know anybody more deserving, he was a lot of fun to watch."
