      A special prosecutor filed a motion on Friday to dismiss the criminal indictments against Willacy County District Attorney Juan Angel "Johnny" Guerra citing the failure of a former special prosecutor to take a state-mandated anti-bribery oath.

Sarita man indicted in $26 million mortgage fraud scheme
11-count federal indictment alleges false applications

      The FBI arrested a former Sarita man and female coworker in Vermont on charges they attempted to defraud mortgage lenders to the tune of $26 million, by submitting loan applications for properties they purchased on behalf of phony investors.
