Willacy County Sheriff Larry Spence says that the County Commissioners have reported an increase in people dumping their trash illegally within the county. Trash being thrown or dumped in ditches, along roadways, and in canals are of main concern. Therefore the Sheriff's Office will be stepping up the enforcement in these areas and issuing citations and seeking fines on all violators. There are areas throughout the county where trash may be taken and disposed of and we encourage the citizens to take advantage of these legal sites and dumpsters.
