RUSS MURPHY, 2007 NEW ICM ARTIST OF THE YEAR, and the winner of numerous other music awards was in Raymondville Sunday, Mar. 15, to honor local veterans. The free concert took place at the First United Methodist Church of Raymondville. Performing his 2006 ICM Song of the Year, "Welcome Home Soldier" and other songs he has written, Russ gave all veterans present a copy of the award-winning CD. Over 34,000 copies of the song have been given to soldiers and veterans across the U.S.
