"Hats off" to the Little League volunteers, reader says
Dear Editor,
I was privileged to have attended the Willacy County Little League's Opening Ceremony this past Saturday at the Eddie Stark Park. I was very delighted by the number of youngsters participating in this program. I was more impressed with the number of parents and volunteers that have made this program so successful. "HATS OFF" to all of the adults for serving as role models, and mentors to our future generations. Their participation helps them to learn right from wrong, team spirit, fortitude, honesty and so much more. You, as adults, are truly leading by example. These young children will in years to come reflect and appreciate the commitment, time and effort you put forward this year. The fond memories will be recalled for days and years to come, as fun times that are part of the foundational blocks of who they will become. The fun they shared, the lessons they learned, and the life long friendships they form will be cornerstones to guide their future. As the Willacy County League Organization works towards their "common vision," they fuel our community towards common goals.
A quote by Andrew Carnegie: "Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results."
Sincerely,
Sulema G. Osuna
