First Baptist Church hosted a Homecoming Celebration on April 19th. Many past members came to share blessing and reunite with old friends. Music included a Homecoming Choir, a Reunion Praise Band as well as solos and duets. Fred Ater from the Baptist General Convention of Texas and Domingo Quintanilla from the Rio Grande Valley Baptist Association were on hand to congratulate the church on the restoration of its Hurricane Dolly-damaged sanctuary and to challenge First Baptist to focus on it future ministry in Willacy County. After a brief message on the final homecoming by Pastor Willis, all in attendance were invited to share lunch in the Fellowship Hall.
