BISHOP, TX - Rene Hinojosa, Sr., 62, of Bishop, TX went to be with the Lord on April 14, 2009. He was born in Raymondville, TX on November 23, 1946. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernesto R. Hinojosa, a sister, Carolina Garza, and a brother, Gustavo Hinojosa. Mr. Hinojosa was a retired offshore seismographer with the Schumberger Co. He also worked as a firefighter with the Harlingen Fire Dept. for many years. He was a loving husband, son, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and he will be dearly missed by all his loving family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Lilly Villarreal Hinojosa of Bishop, TX, his mother, Ignacia Hinojosa of Kingsville, a daughter, Imelda Hinojosa of Santa Monica, TX, two sons, John Joe (Thelma) Hinojosa of Sebastian, TX, Rene (Christy) Hinojosa, Jr. of Lyford, TX, one sister, Ignacia (Dan) Lovette of Ft. Collins, Colorado, three brothers, Ernesto (Elsa) Hinojosa, Ruben (Patty) Hinojosa both of Kingsville, TX and Jose (Dolores) Hinojosa of Raymondville, four grandchildren, Kasandra, Aaron, Cassidy and Coleman Hinojosa, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was held Saturday, April 18, at the Guardian Funeral Home Chapel in Corpus Christi and a rosary and service was held at 4 p.m.
