JUVENCIO SALAZAR
Juvencio Salazar, 77, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 25, 2009. He was born August 31, 1931 on El Pie Ranch in Sebastian, TX to Gumercindo and Francisca Salazar.
Juvencio is survived by his loving wife, Paula Llanes Salazar of Raymondville. He is also survived by his two sons, Abel (Anne) Salazar of Katy, TX, Albert (Becky) Salazar of Harlingen; grandchildren Andrew and Adrian Salazar of Katy, TX, Corderro Salazar of San Marcos, TX and Dulce Salazar of Harlingen; brothers: Gumercindo (Celia) Salazar of Fresno, CA, Gustavo Salazar of Bakersfield, CA, Francisco Salazar of Richmond, VA, Octavio Salazar of Raymondville; sisters: Lydia Williams of Sadsburyville, PA, Maria Salazar of San Benito, TX and Olivia (Hector) Cantu of Deer Park, TX; his parents and brother, Humberto Salazar preceded him in death.
Juvencio was a business owner of Earl's Agri-Business. He also served his country in the Korean War, was Democrat Chairman for 35 years and school board Pct. 7 for 35 years, member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, V.F.W., Chamber of Commerce, Farm Bureau and KGBT Catholic Association.
A rosary was recited Monday, April 27, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment followed at the Raymondville Memorial Cemetery.
