Esteban Tovar, Jr., 46, of Raymondville, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2009. He was born in Raymondville on January 28, 1963 to Esteban Tovar, Sr. and Felipa Tovar.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lisa Tovar; five daughters, Stephanie (Fred) Alejandro of Raymondville, Erica Tovar and Armando Medina of Austin, Elisabet (Robert) Tobias, Melissa (Sam) Rivas, Clarissa Tovar and son, Esteban Tovar, III, all of Raymondville; grandchildren, Stephen I. Tovar, Jacob and James Alejandro, Jayden Gonzales, Brianna Alejandro, Loraine Tobias, Samantha and Penni Rivas.

He is also survived by his mother, Felipa Tovar of Raymondville; five brothers, Juan Tovar, Martin Tovar, Robert Tovar all of Raymondville, Patrick (Anita) Tovar of Harlingen, Joe (Sally) Tovar of Premont; five sisters, Janie (Joe) Munguia, Estela (Juan) Beserra, Norma Tovar all of Raymondville, Tina (Dean) Waggoner of Harlingen and Melba (Roland) Rodriguez of Hobbs, New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his father, Esteban Tovar, Sr.

Rosary was recited Monday, May 18, at 7 p.m. at Duddlesten Funeral Home.

Funeral mass was celebrated Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Pallbearers were Joe Tovar, Martin Tovar, Patrick Tovar, Robert Tovar, Fred Alejandro and Esteban Tovar, III.

Interment followed at the Raymondville Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Duddlesten Funeral Home.
