Kittelberger happy about expanded Navigation Dist. board
June 22, 2009 Editor,
On June 19, 2009 Governor Rick Perry signed into law SB- 2569. This will profoundly change the Willacy County Navigation District by increasing the current three member Board to five members. Will this be a good change or a bad one? Only time will tell. One thing that is quite certain is that a change of some kind was necessary as it was inevitable and long overdue. It is my opinion that this change was brought on by the rude way the current Board treated many Port residents and to a large extent by the special treatment the current Board gave to their friends and supporters. Add to this the vast amount of tax dollars wasted over the past 20 years and the number of needed projects left undone and you could say the current Board reaped what it had sewn (SIC). I sincerely hope the new Board will be better than the old. It's hard to see how they could be any worse.

Better be careful what you wish for Mr. Kittelberger, a new board with members from Lasara, Raymondville and San Perlita may decide to ban fishing guides and then where will you be?
