Retirement Party planned June 30 for Judge Richard Solis

Willacy County's longest serving Justice of the Peace has announced his retirement after 16 years on the job.

Richard Solis told county commissioners that he is leaving in order to spend more time with his family, saying that he thought about it carefully before making his decision.

Commissioners accepted his letter of retirement and a Retirement Party for the judge has been planned for June 30, at 5 p.m. in the American Legion Hall.

Judge Solis' Pct. 1 office has been the busiest in the county over the years and he has done a good job. The Chronicle/News wishes Judge Solis and his family happiness in his retirement.
