EDCOUCH - Guadalupe Torres Rodriguez, 65, passed away Friday, June 26, 2009 at his home. Guadalupe was born on January 27, 1944 to Luis and Soila Rodriguez. Guadalupe is survived by his loving wife, Juanita "Janie" Rodriguez, his children, Jaime (Elizabeth), Daniel (Lorene) Rodriguez, Shelley (Armando) Alvarez and Guadalupe "Gaddi" Rodriguez. He is also survived by his step-children, Ramiro Fonseca, Cynthia Salinas, Velma (Frank) Perez, Randy (Isabel) Salinas and Eduardo (Doris) Salinas; also 12 step-grandchildren; grandchildren: Danyssa, Jaime Jr., Gilberto, Quelee, Donyalle Rodriguez, Anissa, Christian Cavazos, Alyana, Andrea Alvarez, Ryan Torres; brothers: Toribio (Maria), Ramiro (tila), Jose Angel (Fina), Enrique (Guadalupe) and Baldemar (Oma) Rodriguez, nephew who was like a brother, Jose Juan (Dolores) Rodriguez. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Teodora Garcia, Tomasa Borrego and brothers, Juan De Dios, Librado and Roberto Rodriguez.

To all who knew him, he will be remembered as a man full of wit to the end, a loving, caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. Guadalupe was a lifelong self employed trucker and although disabled since 1995, continued to be a part of this hard and tough profession. His family will be eternally grateful for those who cared for him during his battles with health including Dr. Allan Spence, Dr. Oladayo Sanusik, Dr. Hugo Blake (heart clinic), La Luz Healthcare and especially Mirta Alvarado, LVN.

Services of remembrance were at Faith Tabernacle in Sebastian on Monday, June 29 at 7 p.m. Procession was Tuesday, June 30, with entombment at Restlawn Cemetery in La Feria.
