LYFORD - Jesus Mendez Madrigal, 54, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. A rosary will be recited Wednesday, 7 p.m. at Duddlesten Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10 a.m., Aug. 13, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Lyford. Interment will follow at the Lyford Evergreen Cemetery.

He is survived by his loving wife, Merced Mendez of Lyford; one son, Jesus Mendez, Jr. of Houston, TX and one daughter, Veronica M. Caballero of Lyford; three brothers, Cruz Esquivel of Aurora, IL, Benjamin Mendez of Peoria, IL, and Jose Madrigal of California; five sisters, Elvira Cuevas of Mexico, Maria Contreras of California, Antonia Madrigal, Carmen Mendez and Clementina Cuevas all of Mexico. He is also survived by two grandchildren.
