Reader wants burn ban cancelled
Editor,
I would like to know why the burn ban has not been lifted, at least temporarily. Cameron County lifted its burn ban more than two weeks ago after a few rain showers. This idea of having a "Willacy County Fire Czar" smells like trickle down for Obama failure. The "Fire Czar" could not be reached and would not return calls on Thursday. I live outside the city limits surrounded by plowed fields and I'm not allowed to burn! Inside I'm doing a "slow burn." I hope they don't see the smoke coming out my ears! I'll get fined!
I'm a mature adult, who works for a living, pay all my taxes on time and my rights for life liberty and the pursuit of happiness are being limited and restricted more and more. This is America, the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave! As can be attested to by our many local combat veterans, many permanently disabled!
On another note, I hope the punks who continue to make "beer runs" will take note of the article in the paper a couple of weeks ago where the store clerk shot and killed the "beer runner." The clerk's only mistake was in trying to hide the body.
My clerks have been instructed not to hide the body! After the gun is empty, call 911!
