Isabel V. Tristan, born July 8, 1925 in Hidalgo, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 2, 2009. Isabel was surrounded by her children as she made her final journey to be with her husband, Fernando Tristan, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1999. Isabel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. After starting her family in Harlingen, Tx she then made her home with her husband of 53 years in Raymondville, Tx where she resided until her death. Isabel was a great example of strength, courage and of Christian faith to her family.

Her children are Fernando (Mercedes) Tristan, Jr. of Nacogdoches, Tx, Cruz (Alfred) Hernandez, Elvira (Jimmy) Reyes of Houston, Tx, Mary (Julian) Betancourt and Crecencia Gomez of Raymondville, Isabel (Manuel) Andrade of San Antonio, Tx, Inez (Elida) Tristan, Sr. of Houston, Tx, Oralia (Alberto) Galvan of Falfurrias, Tx, Robert (Rosalie) Tristan, Sr. and Gilbert (Mary) Tristan of Raymondville and Yolanda (Eddie) Chapa, Jr. of Harlingen, Tx. Isabel had 25 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sisters, Maria Refugia Villarreal of Harlingen, Texas, Delia Cabriales of Texas City, Tx, Rosa Vega of Austin, Tx and two brothers, Joe Valenzuela of Stafford, Tx and Juan Valenzuela of Harlingen, Tx.

Isabel was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Cruz Valenzuela, and two sisters, Margarita Gonzalez and Alicia Palomo.

Pallbearers were Eddie Chapa, Julian Betancourt, Alfred Hernandez, Manuel Andrade, Alberto Galvan, Jimmy Reyes.

Honorary pallbearers were Robert Tristan and Gilbert Tristan.

A rosary was recited Sunday, October 4, at Duddlesten Funeral Home Chapel. Rosary was recited Monday, Oct. 5, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Funeral mass was celebrated Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Interment was at Raymondville Memorial Cemetery.
