KATY JOHNSON HONORED BY LYFORD WOMEN'S CLUB - Katy Johnson was awarded a Life Membership in the Lyford Women's Club at the October 8 meeting for having been an active member of the club since 1950. Other former and present members for 50 years or more include Margaret Williams Evans, Enid Johnson, Laura Kate Buckley, Estella Cantu and Stella Land. Lyford Women's Club has been in existence since 1910.

Brenda DeWitt presented the program, "Only 79 More Shopping Days 'til Christmas!" Hostesses for the afternoon were Martha Sorenson, Betty Hick and Pud Whitfield.

Members of the Lyford Women's Club are women of Willacy County who meet on the second Thursday afternoon of each month, usually at one of the local churches. For more information, contact B.J.
