A fellow was leaving a Veterans' Hospital, and a friend said, "I didn't know you were wounded during the war."

"I wasn't wounded," he answered. "I was injured."

"Which battle?" he asked.

"It wasn't in a battle," he said, "I was running from a battle."

As it was with him, so it is with the soldiers of the Lord. It's either duty or desertion.

With Jonah it was desertion. Running from the Lord, he encountered a smashing storm. Then he was swallowed by a great fish. You're never safe when you're sinning.

Be true to the Lord at any cost. Do yourduty, yourwhole duty, and nothing but your duty!
