Ruby Ruiz Ruby Ruiz, 21, of Raymondville was killed in a one car crash on Dec. 22 in Mission. A passenger in her Ford Ranger pickup also died. He was identified as Jaime Santana Garcia, 22, of Edinburg.

Mission Police Sgt. Tittle said that Ms. Ruiz was driving South on Taylor Road at 12:53 a.m. when her pickup ran the stop sign at the U. S. Hwy. 83 frontage road, ran into a bar ditch and then crashed into a concrete center median. The truck caught fire and both of the young people perished.

A funeral service for Ms. Ruiz was held Monday,Dec. 28 at Duddlesten Funeral Home Chapel, with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.

She is survived by her parents, Hipolito and Sofia Ruiz, and brother Hipolito Ruiz,III, paternal grandparents, Hipolito and Consuelo Ruiz and maternal grandparents, Silvero and Eva Moreno, all of Raymondville.

She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
