LETTER TO THE EDITOR
I find your response somewhat amusing because the problems out here not been recent ones and we both know this. The reason that you were made aware of the bee problem was because I brought it to your attention as did my husband and you made it very clear that you could not help me. With this being said, I proceeded to contact Mr. Aurelio Guerra to help with the problem, which was taken care of between the County Judge’s office and the Raymondville School District.
We made your crew aware of the bee problem when your crew came out to spray the Roundup. If the bees were an issue, then why did the maintainers come out to begin working on removing and leveling the soil on the road? We both know that I’ve brought the road conditions to your attention on several occasions, without any mention of the bees in my neighbors overgrown yard. Your reason for not mowing at the time was my fence which coincides with my property line, and that should not have been an issue since we mow outside our fence, and along the curve which should be done by you.
The recent rains are and have been a problem but at the time of the project initiation, we had not had any rain, and the conditions of the road weren’t as severe as they are now. The bees had also been removed weeks prior to the maintainers coming out here. If this were an isolated problem, then I’d be more than willing to give you or anyone else the benefit of the doubt, but never once have I seen you make an attempt to get together with myself or any of the homeowners out here and find out what needs to be done.
The school runs both a regular and special ed bus, and manage to get by with the parents and school working together to ensure that the children are transported safely. The post office has repeatedly refused service to us because it’s not safe for the mail carrier. Isn’t it funny how it’s okay for the school buses to transport our most valuable possessions - our children, but yet the post office thinks it too dangerous to bring us our monthly statements, catalogs and junk mail.
There has been plenty of time and opportunity to address the matter without us having to make excuses for the work not getting done. In your response you say that you’re glad it’s being brought to your attention so that you can address the matter...the only thing I have to say in reference to that is that you’ve made it clear that you really show no interest in finishing what you start and as I’ve told my son when he makes poor choices or decisions, “Don’t tell me it’s going to get done, Show me!” You are more than welcome to stop by any time for a cup of coffee and think of this as an invitation so that this “Constituent” can point out all the problems that need your attention.
