Vicente Garcia, 88, passed away Friday, January 1, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his loving family and close friends.

Vicente was born on July 15, 1921 in Los Ramones, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Ramon Garcia and Petra Moreno de Garcia.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Adolfo Garcia and two brothers: Rumaldo and Estevan, and one sister, Damiana (Teodoro) Garcia.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Isabel G. Garcia, five daughters: Maria (Alonso) King of Chicago, IL, Virginia (Otoniel) Valdovinos of Raymondville, Minerva (Diego) Lopez, Elvia (Jesus) Garza, both of Nebraska, and Isabel (Marcos) Garcia of Houston; two sons: Eduardo (Ludy) Garcia of Mexico and Aristeo (Mayra) of Raymondville. His brother: Ramon Garcia and his sisters, Maria Luisa (†Leandro) Garza, Eusebia Vda. de Alfonso Gonzalez and Paulita Vda. de Vicente Pruneda. 32 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild also survive Vicente along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Viewing was held on Saturday, January 2, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and resumed at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2010 until 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. officiated by Bro. Abel Gonzalez both evenings.

Funeral services officiated by Dionicio Garza in Garza Gonzalez, N.L., Mexico were held on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 1 p.m. followed with interment at the Panteon Municipal de Garza Gonzalez.
