BROWNSVILLE TV REPORTERS COVER SHOOTING IN RAYMONDVILLE Television news crews from Channel 23 and Telemundo from Brownsville were in Raymondville Tues. morning to interview police investigator David Robles about the third shooting here in the past two weeks. Police are looking for four suspects in the latest incident which sent Antonio "Toker" Guerrero, 29, to the hospital with a bullet lodged in his lower back. Shots rang out early Tuesday morning in the 300 block of North 5th Street, the third time in the new year. Police investigator Andres "Andy" Maldonado said that Antonio Guerrero, 29, was shot in the back by a jealous rival for a woman's affections as he walked south across the street from the First Baptist Church.

Guerrero who goes by the nickname "Toker" was hit once in the lower back and is being treated at Valley Baptist Medical Center, Harlingen. The shooting happened at 3 a.m. and several shots were fired, Maldonado said.

Alfredo Guadalupe Gonzales, 26 (Shooter, riding in red Ford Ranger) Alfredo Guadalupe Gonzales, 26 (Shooter, riding in red Ford Ranger) Police say Guerrero was staying at his girl friend's house in the 400 block of West Durham when the two got into an argument and he stormed out of the house and began walking south on North 5th St.

Two vehicles, a red Pontiac Trans/Am and a red Ford Ranger pickup drove up from behind Guerrero and he heard shots.

The first one hit him in the lower back and he began running to a friend's house on West Raymond where he sought shelter.

Maldonado said that the men first tried to run over the victim before the shots were fired and when he jumped onto the curb they turned around and came back.

Police are looking for four men in connection with the latest shooting incident. They are Reynaldo "Budda" Acosta, 26, Pablo Hernandez, 34, Alfredo Guadalupe Gonzales, 26, believed to be the shooter and Andrew Garza believed to be in his twenties and recently returned to Raymoncville.

Pablo Hernandez, 34 (Riding/Driving, red Trans Am/Firebird, attempted to run over victim, Party to Offense) Pablo Hernandez, 34 (Riding/Driving, red Trans Am/Firebird, attempted to run over victim, Party to Offense) Last year Pablo Hernandez stabbed his brother-in-law to death and was no-billed by a grand jury after he claimed self defense in the death which happened at a family gathering.

Investigator David Robles said Acosta is believed to be the driver of the red Ford Ranger and that he tried to run over Guerrero.

Hernandez was believed to be driving or riding in the red Pontiac Trans/Am and he will also be charged with trying to run over the victim.

Police say Gonzales was riding in the Ford Ranger pickup and that he fired the shot that hit Guerrero. The victim was hit in the "tail bone," Maldonado said and will recover.

Two weeks ago a police officer fired several shots at a 16-year-old who was fleeing a traffic stop on the north side. He was not injured.

Reynaldo Acosta Jr., 26 (Driver of red Ford Ranger, attempted to run over victim) Reynaldo Acosta Jr., 26 (Driver of red Ford Ranger, attempted to run over victim) Last week two sheriff's deputies shot a disturbed man dead after he threatened them with a ball bat and exhibited what appeared to be a pistol.

"I'm not sure what is going on but last year we didn't have our first shooting incident until February," said investigator Maldonado.
