Cocaine smuggler gets 10 years in prison

The Willacy County and District Attorney’s Office announced today that on January 14, 2010, Cutberto Tudon Hernandez, 22, pled guilty in the 197th District Court to possession of controlled substance and was sentenced to ten years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division.
On October 23, 2009, Texas Depar-tment of Public Safety Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a truck being driven by the defendant. The Troopers conducted an inventory of the truck and located over approximately 15 lbs. of cocaine inside the vehicle.
The Willacy County and District Attorney’s Office will aggressively prosecute crimes involving drug trafficking. The Willacy County and District Attorney’s office would like to thank officers Trooper J.T. Wallen and Trooper Richard Pacheco of the Texas Department of Public Safety for their participation with this case. The case was prose-cuted by Willacy County District Attorney Bernard W. Ammerman and First Assistant District Attorney Scott Greenbaum.
