U.S. Marshals Service renews detention facility contract

At the 540-bed WCRDF inmates enjoy rehabilitative instruction in basic business, personal finance, parenting skills and other fields. The facility is accredited by the prestigious American Correctional Associ-ation (ACA). MTC has managed the facility for the U.S. Marshals Service since October 1, 2003.
In addition to operating Willacy County Regional Detention Facility in Raymondville, MTC also operates the nearby Willacy Processing Center. This 3086-bed facility is contracted for operation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The two Willacy County correctional institutions are among 16 Management & Training Corporation operates in Arizona, California, New Mexico, Ohio and Texas. MTC is the third leading private operator of adult correctional facilities in the world, with a total inmate and immigration detainee bed count of 19,698.
In addition to managing adult correctional facilities, MTC also operates - or partners in the operation of - 26 Job Corps centers across the country for the US Labor Department.
