RAYMONDVILLE - Maria Cirilla Bonilla Avila de Muniz passed away Saturday, January 16, 2010 in San Fernando, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

Maria Cirila was born on February 9, 1949 in San Luis Potosi, S.L.P., Mexico to Jose Calletano Bonilla and Vicenta Avila Bonilla.

She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Clemente and Tomas. Survivors include three daughters: Catalina (Ramiro) trevino of San Fernando, Tamps., Eufemia (David) Berridge of New Mexico and Maria Magdalena (Oscar) Puente of Lyford, TX; three sons: Martin (Isabel) Muniz of A.F., South Korea, Jose Manuel (Sheila) Muniz of Tennessee and Jose Calletano (Melissa) Muniz of Raymondville, TX; two brothers: Miguel and Goyo, her sister, Marcelina Avila, 21 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive Maria Cirila.

Visitation was held at the Hernandez Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 22, 2010 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. that evening. A funeral mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2010. In honor of her family’s wishes, Maria Cirila was taken to be cremated immediately following her funeral mass.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Jose Manuel Muniz, Jose C. Muniz, Jr., Raul Muniz, Felix Tamez, Jr., Damian Casarez, and Martin Trevino, Jr.
