Man charged in deaths of 2 nuns after crash

FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) - A southwest Florida man has been charged in the deaths of two nuns after he allegedly crashed into their vehicle while driving under the influence of alcohol.

Michael G. Hickman is charged with two counts of DUI manslaughter in the September crash in North Fort Myers.

Authorities say the 60-yearold man was making a left turn from a highway when he collided with the nuns' vehicle. A state lab report showed he had a blood alcohol level of .228, almost three times the legal limit.

Sisters Karinne O’Malley and Ann McFall, teachers at St. Andrew Catholic School in Cape Coral, were killed.

According to jail records, Hickman has been released on bond.

His attorney told The News- Press of Fort Myers that Hickman will plead not guilty to the charges.
