Talking burglary suspect arrested in home
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A burglary suspect who stopped to chat with people inside homes has been charged, along with an accomplice, with four felonies.
Twenty-year-old Brenton Kehoe and 18-year-old Gilberto Gutierrez are charged with burglary and theft.
Police say homeowner Judy Powell awoke last week to find someone opening cabinet doors. Then a figure moved into her bedroom.
She spoke to the intruder, and after a few minutes, her husband, a doctor and retired Air Force colonel, tossed him out of the house.
Police were still investigating a half hour later when a second call of a burglary in progress came in. That intruder walked into a bedroom and spoke to Shawn Knudeson.
Kehoe was arrested in the bedroom of Knudeson’s son. Gutierrez was arrested in the driveway.
