LYFORD - Ernestina Garcia, 65, entered into rest Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Valley Baptist Medical Center.

She was born on February 17, 1944 at El Ebanito Ranch near Santa Monica, TX, she was the daughter of the late Placido Gomez, Sr. and Rebecca Cavazos Gomez.

Surviving are her son, Billy Garcia of Santa Monica, TX; daughters, Emma Garcia and Diana (Javier) Garcia Olivo of Santa Monica, Lydia Cadena of San Diego, TX, Delia (Damian) Tijerina of McAllen, Bolia Garcia of Harlingen, TX; brother, Placido (Emma) Gomez, Jr. of Baytown, sisters, Amelia Ince of Harlingen, and Herminia (Ruben) Leal of Hutto, TX; four grandchildren, Julian Tijerina, Rolando, Frankie and Rebecca Cadena; and three great grandchildren, Daniel, Kayla, and Rolando Cadena.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Roberto, Rafael and Ernesto Gomez and her parents.

Visitation will be held at Duddlesten Funeral Home, Raymondville, TX.

Services were held Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Santa Monica Catholic Church.

Interment followed at the La Jarita Cemetery, Santa Monica, TX, with arrangements under the direction of Duddlesten Funeral Home, Raymondville, (956) 689-2151.
