Ysaias Alfaro, 78, passed away Monday, February 22, 2010 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX.

He was born October 13, 1931 in Premont, TX to Cecilio Alfaro and Dorotea Sifuentes Alfaro. Along with his parents, Ysaias is preceded in death by his wife, Natalia, four sisters: Juanita Alfaro, Maria Concepcion Acosta, Beatriz Sepulveda, and Lydia Alfaro and three brothers: Adelaido, Alredo, and Euleterio Alfaro.

He is survived by his son, David (Pamela) Alfaro, two sisters: Santos A. Sosa and Elisa A. Moreno, one brother: Alberto Alfaro, and three grandchildren: Brianna Nicole, Dashia Danielle and Isaiah Alfaro.

Visitation was held Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the Hernandez Funeral Home Chapel from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a prayer service conducted at 7 p.m. Visitation resumed today, February 24, 2010 from 8 a.m. until the commencement of a 10 a.m. funeral service performed with military honors at the Hernandez Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Raymondville Memorial Park. Arrangements under the direction of Hernandez Funeral Home in Raymondville.
