Following up a lead from Crime Stoppers Raymondville Police arrested a man wanted in California for multiple counts of sex crimes with a victim under the age of 10.

Police investigator David Robles said that Juan Conde, 44, was located at his parents’ home, 421 West Tampico St., while he sat in a swing smoking a cigarette.

Conde is a native of Raymondville who now lives in Tulare, California. Police there have a warrant for him and Conde will be returned to California to answer the charges against him.

Det. Robles said Conde did not resist arrest and did not deny his identity even telling them his California address, although he did deny knowing that he was wanted by police.

Robles said that Conde had only been here for a couple of days and that California police believed that he was hiding in Colorado.

An anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers provided specific information regarding Conde, his description, where he could be found and what he was wanted for in California, including a description of the red Pontiac GranAm he was driving.

If Conde is convicted of the charges against him it is likely that he will be sentenced to life in prison, California police told Det. Robles.
