2010-03-03 / News

Su Clinica now serves 4,047 patients at its Raymondville clinic which includes a pharmacy and occupies a total of 17,500 square feet of space.

In the coming year Su Clinica intends to remodel the clinic and build a free standing 5,000 square ft. pharmacy. This will bring the total size of the facility to 22,500 square feet.

The space now occupied by the indoor pharmacy will become treatment rooms, according to Adam Saldivar, chief of information technology at Su Clinic. He said the medical center recently got a $1.2 million grant to improve: its technology and to remodel the Raymondville Clinic.

Saldivar said $289,000 will be spent for upgrading computers, equipment and services at the three clinics Su Clinica operates in Harlingen, Brownsville and Raymondville.

The remaining $900,000 in grant funds will go to the Raymondville remodeling and expansion project.

Saldivar said that bids will be let within 90 days and the construction should be completed by early in 2011. In the construction phase 47 full time jobs will be created in our community.

The three clinics together treat 26,000 patients annually.

Dr. Elena Marin, MD is the chief operating officer of Su Clinica Familiar.
