Roberto P. Vela, 85, of Sebastian, TX, entered into rest Saturday, February 27, 2010 in La Hacienda Nursing Home.

He was born on March 22, 1924 in Willacy County, TX, son of the late Juan Vela and Amada Muno.

Surviving are daughters, Rebecca Rodriguez of Sebastian, Rosa Maria Vela, Ruth Vela, Emma Garza, of Baytown; sons, Rene Vela of Michigan, Renaldo Vela and Rueben Vela of Sebastian, Raul Vela of Santa Rosa, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 2 at the Duddlesten Funeral Home, Raymondville. Services were held at Sebastian Apostolic Church, Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. Interment followed at the Sebastian Guadalupe Cemetery.
