7 candidates to compete for 3 spots on Lyford City Commission

Seven candidates have filed to run for three at large commissioners seats in Lyford. There will be no run off so the top three vote getters will be elected in the May 8, 2010 election.
Those who have filed include: Melissa Marie Rodriguez, a licensed vocational nurse; Incumbent commissioner Antonio Chavez, who is an accountant; Hector Blanco, a sales/merchandiser; Ramon Perez, Jr. a bus driver and Ramon Moya, a shop foreman for the Harlingen CISD. Also, David Clarida, a former mayor and retiree, and Ramiro Santillana.
Early voting begins on April 26 and ends on May 4.
