Third place finisher Annette Hinojosa is asking for a recount of the votes in the March 2 county judge race.

Hinojosa finished third in the race just 5 votes behind second place finisher John Gonzales.

The results on election day stacked up like this: Aurelio "Keter" Guerra, 796 votes; John Gonzales, 712 votes, Annette Hinojosa, 707 votes; Eloy Castaneda, 579 votes; and Emilio "Jr." Vera, 546 votes.

So, before county commissioners can certify the results, the votes must be recounted.
