BEARKAT POWERLIFTING TEAM for placed 2nd in the Boys Regional Powerlifting Championships The Bearkat Powerlifting Team for placed 2nd in the Boys Regional Powerlifting Championships. The team competed in Kingsville this past Saturday. Members of the team are: Joe Trevino-Regional Champion, Justin Duran- Regional Champion, Greg Juarez-2nd place, Aaron Gonzales-5th place, Joseph Zaragoza-5th place, Mark Cavazos-7th place, Leonard Ramirez-7th place.

Joe Trevino broke several Regional records including the Squat record, the Bench record, and the Total record. He squatted 835 lbs., benched 425 lbs., deadlifted 575 lbs. and totaled 1835 lbs. He is currently ranked 1st in State in the 275 division. Joe is also the defending State champion from a year ago.

Justin Duran also broke several Regional records in the 198 division including the Squat record, the Total record and tied the Bench record. He squatted 675 lbs., benched 375 lbs. deadlifted 565 lbs. and totaled 1615 lbs. He is currently ranked 1st in State in the 198 division. Justin placed 9th in the State Championship a year ago.

TOP THREE LIFTERS will compete for the state title March 27. Greg Juarez will also be competing at the State Championship in Abilene on March 27th. He will be competing in the 220 division. Greg is only a sophomore and this will be his first trip to the Big Show.
