Reyes Gonzales Montemayor, 88, died peacefully on March 21, 2010 in Irving, TX. He was a lifelong resident of Lyford, TX.

He was born March 11, 1922 to late Arturo and Augustina Montemayor of Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years: Estella Mungia Montemayor; a son, Reyes Montemayor, Jr.; a daughter, Janie Mendez; and two stepsons, Baltazar Vela and Willie Braillif, Jr.

He is survived by his sons, Hector (Dora) Montemayor of San Marcos, TX; Rudy (Sonia) Montemayor of Corpus Christi, TX, daughters, Viola (Pete) Tamez of Mesquite, TX, Clara Montemayor of Hereford, TX, Beatrice (Luis) de la Rosa of Patterson, CA, Tina (Richard) Alcorta of Dallas, TX, Liza (Bert) Puga of Dallas, TX; stepdaughter, Braulia Cavazos Rodriguez of Houston, TX. His sisters, Paula Montemayor of Monterrey, Mexico and Andrea Montemayor of Galveston, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, 45 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Wood Funeral Home.

Interment was at New Hope Sunny Vale at Mesquite, TX.

Serving as pallbearers were grandsons, Randy Rodriguez, Anthony Fonseca, Manuel Tamez, Gilbert Tamez, Tommy Schlitzberger, Jesus Mesa.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wood Funeral Home of Carrollton, TX.
