LASARA - Pilar G. Zarate, 93, of Lasara, TX, entered into rest Sunday, April 18, 2010 in Retama Manor Nursing Home.

He was born on June 25, 1916 in La Grulla, TX, son of the late Cayetano and Carlota (Gutierrez) Zarate.

He is survived by two sons: Pilar Zarate, Jr. of Angleton, TX, and Juan Zarate of Orange Cove, CA; two daughters, Maria Rodriguez of Angleton, TX, and Carlota Reyna of Lasara; three sisters, Mary Teague and Simona Paul, both of Houston, and Neri Marquez of California.

A rosary will be recited on Thursday, April 22, at 7 p.m. at Duddlesten Funeral Home, Raymondville. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Lasara on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 2 p m. with interment to follow at the Lasara Cemetery, with Duddlesten Funeral in charge of the arrangements, 956-689-2151.
