Indoor picnic at First United Methodist Church

It has probably been a long time since you’ve considered having an old-fashioned picnic to celebrate anything! As we approach the long, hot summer, which always seems as if it will never end, turn your thoughts to a kinder, gentler time when a family picnic was really something to anticipate.

You are cordially invited to join us for an indoor picnic in the Fellowship Hall at FUMC this Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Celebrate the family! Mom, dad and kids are all welcome to share with us in this pre-Mom’s Day event. Not only will there be food, drinks, and door prizes, what picnicwould be complete without the ants? All kidding aside, we are looking forward to your presence on Saturday.

Turn off your TV, clear your schedule (and your mind), and experience a close encounter of the musical kind. The Teen Challenge Choir is gracing us with song and testimony. Teen challenge is an international organization which welcomes people of every age and all walks of life.

They are instrumental is assisting troubled youth and entire families who have become victims of alcoholism, drug addiction and the result of that lifestyle. Featured also are dynamic speakers, some whose names you recognize: Abby Vela, Rev. Juan Cantu, Dolores Duron, Noemi Garza, Jerry McGowen and Terry Duron.

There is no charge for this event. If you would like to share with us, however, bring a covered dish or a dessert. The picnic is being brought to you by the “Woman of Excellence” Committee, a ministry of Bethel United Methodist Church. For more information, please call 689-3376.
